Taking Action

Why are we so afraid to take action and stick with something? By taking action it allows us to be more self-confident and see the outcome of our efforts. I think if we do what we can to inspire others we will be inspired and our life will feel more complete and fulfilled.
I think the problem that gets in our way is that not enough people believe in us that we can do it. All it takes is one person to say "I don't know, how much will it cost?" "Do you think that is the best thing you could be doing?" What they don't realize is that first we have to believe in ourselves and then we need to be ready to validate our decision with a true action plan. After all isn't life about proving to ourselves and to others that we can do it?
Looking at Lance Armstrong, imagine how many people questioned him going back after 4 years to ride the Tour. Not to mention his previous cancer history. He is an example to all of us that our mental belief in ourselves is unstoppable as long as we are willing to try and give it our best.
If we don't take action and follow a plan we may never reach our goals and will always live our life wondering. This happened to my grandmother where she was discovered by a scout who wanted her to be in the Zigfield Follies and tour. When she called her mother to ask permission she did everything she could to keep her from going. My grandmother finally had the break she was looking for and her whole life in front of her. But instead she decided to not go and listen to her mother. For the rest of her life she regretted it. Why do we do this to ourselves? Even if she had done it for a year and tried it would have been better than not knowing at all.
We are pleasers of other humans and we try not to make other upset or worry but in the end it is at our expense. In the end, the inner pain is ours not theirs. Once again we need to take chances and give it a shot, you never know. Take action, what do you have to lose?
